The excavations briefly described here are all projects I directed or supervised between 1975 and 1987. Other important investigations carried out before the emergence of commercial archaeology in the 1990s include the long barrow Giants Hills’ 2, Skendleby, a complex round barrow at West Ashby and the timber causeway at Fiskerton. These are listed along with others in the Bibliography. As this weblog develops I will add a photo album of images taken during visits to these sites.

Radiocarbon dates are presented calibrated at 2ơ. Laboratory numbers are not shown in order to keep the text easy to read. Most of the dates are published and I can provide a reference on request.
